On Nov. 11, 1935, Retired Officer G. Parker Driskill died at his north Fort Worth home. His death was an indirect result of severe injuries he suffered after being struck by a motor vehicle as he stepped off a curb in the downtown area. According to newspaper accounts, the traffic accident occurred in 1931.
After the accident, Officer Driskill was only able to work sporadically and never returned to full duty status. Officer Driskill was granted a pension by the Fort Worth City Council, retroactive to July of 1935. The pension, $50 per month, was granted for a medical retirement relating to his on the job injury.
