PETERS, Marilyn Chick Thomas, (``Granny""), 62, of Roanoke, left this world Saturday, May 2, 1998, to be gathered in the bosom of her Lord. Born August 25, 1 935 in Mendon, Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Alice Chick, who preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of Hollins Road Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Billy D. ``Pete"" Peters; her children and their spouses, Tom and Annette Thomas, Tim and Brenda Peters, Brad and Cindy Jones, Vickie Martin, Eddy and Beth Thomas, Steve and Janet Thomas, Alden ``Cricket"" Thomas; also 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Scott; brothers and sister-in-law, Alden and Norma Chick, Jack Chick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 1998, with the Rev. Mark Washington and the Rev. Charles R. Doyle officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel after 12 noon Monday.
