F. W. Palliser, Former Monrovia Businessman, Dies
Frederick W. Palliser, 90, 228 E. Lime Ave., died Saturday at his home. He was a native of London, England.
Mr. Palliser was a secretary to the YMCA during World War I, serving in France. He has been active in sales work throughout the Los Angeles area for many years and for five years owned and operated a furniture store in Monrovia.
He was active in Sunday School and church work in the First Methodist Church of Monrovia and was especially interested in missionary work traveling through this country and Europe during his lifetime. Friends will also remember him through pleasant times experienced at his home in Manhattan Beach.
He leaves his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Palliser Sinclair of Monrovia;
two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Willis B. Palliser of Palm Springs and Conesus, N. Y. and Miss Effie Tracey of Buffalo, N. Y.;
Brother-in-law, John C. Sinclair and J. S. Bussey and son John, all of Melford, Mich.;
and niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Mayers of Monrovia and Yuma, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Temple-La Gorgue Chapel, Rev. V. B. Hamilton of Whittier Foursquare church, officiating.
Interment will be in Live Oak Memorial Park.
