William Robert "Bob" Young died at his home in Livonia, Michigan, on November 23, 2015, at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife, Janet E. (Lottes) Young; son the Rev. John M. Young and wife Raquel (Poole) of Fishkill, New York; son Daniel G. Young and wife Carrie (Lucier) of Livonia; grandchildren Abigail, Sarah, Emma, Joseph, and Mark; mother Leva G. Young of Bloomington, Indiana; brother Clint L. Young and wife Charlotte (Martin) of Bloomington, Indiana. He was predeceased by his father, George H. Young, and an infant sister, Martha Jane Young.

Bob was born on November 18, 1946, in Bloomington, Indiana, to George Huser Young and his wife, Leva Gladys nee Young. He married Janet Evelyne Lottes on September 7, 1968, at St. James Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Indiana.

He graduated from University High School in Bloomington, Indiana, and from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, before entering the U.S. Air Force, where he served his country as a pilot of C-141 aircraft during Vietnam, attaining the rank of Captain. During his time of service he earned his MBA from Southern Illinois University. His career after the military was spent working for Amoco in Chicago, Illinois, and in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He retired in 1999 and moved to Livonia in 2004.

Bob was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia and served until recently as the church accountant. His hobbies included genealogy, woodworking, and music.

Visitation will be at RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia on Friday, November 27 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14175 Farmington Rd, Livonia on Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert F. Bayer officiating. Burial will be at Spring Vale Cemetery in Lafayette, Indiana.
