Funeral services for Nadine Allred, 20, were conducted Friday, September 2, from the Church of Christ in Quail, with Minister Guy N. Wood of Wellington in charge of the services. Miss Allred died Thursday night at 11:45 in a Wellington hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.F. Allred of Morton, Texas, but had for the last two months made her home with her brother, Theodore Allred, in Wellington. Her death came after a serious illness of only a few days. Born June 16, 1918, at Quail, she spent all except about a year of her life there. She received all of her schooling at Quail and studied there last year. She was active, both in school and community work, and had many friends throughout the western part of the county. All who knew her loved her for her friendliness and her cheerfulness. She was a member of the Church of Christ, at Quail.
Surviving Miss Allred are her parents and these brothers and sisters, Theodore Allred of Wellington; Mrs. Etta Mae Claunch of California; Mrs. Edna McAdams of Alice; Norman Allred, of Quail; Mrs. Clara Tow, of Quail; Modelle Allred, S.F. Allred, Jr., and Jenette Allred, all of Morton.
Pallbearers were J.C. Lewallen, Jerry Depauw, Ocie Black, O.E. Dodson, Odis Melton, and Jess Forrester. Flower girls were Judy Coffee, Allie Coffee, and Mrs Bell Depauw. Hymns were sung by the Quail High School Choir, and included "Nearer My God To Thee," and "When They Ring the Golden Bells." Interment was in the Quail Cemetery with the Ellis Funeral Home in charge.
