Roy R. McMillan, 73, of Albany, formerly of Sycamore, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1993, at the Samaritan Health Systems South in Clinton, Iowa.
He was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Black Rivers Falls, Wis., the son of William and Sarah Jean (Endicott) McMillan. He married Martha Craddock on May 14, 1977, in Jacksonville.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated an electrical contracting firm in Sycamore for many years.
He was a member of the IBEW LOCAL 461 in Aurora and the VFW Post 3878 in Rochelle.
He is survived by his wife, of Albany; two sons, Robert (Susan) McMillan and James (Nancy) McMillan, both of Sycamore; two stepdaughters, Paula (Richard) Vogeler and Regina (Ron) Tippy, both of Ashton; one sister, Mary Jones of Algonquin; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters and two siblings in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at the Butala-Van Natta Funeral Home in Sycamore with the Rev. William H. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with full military rites by VFW Post 3878.
Visitation will be 5 tp 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
