Beverly Ann MacDonald, 73 HOLLIS -- Beverly Ann MacDonald, 73, of Hollis Center, died on March 8, 2009, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of Ivory and Ethel Bradbury. She attended Hollis schools. On March 28,1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul John MacDonald. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and Paul had two sons, Timothy John MacDonald and Wayne Paul MacDonald; and three grandchildren, Alayna MacDonald, Jessica MacDonald and John Paul MacDonald. They started their family and lived in Gorham for a short time and then moved to Hollis where they lived in Clarks Mills for many years. She worked for a short time at Sebago Moccasin Company and retired from Giles Orchard in Alfred. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, growing a garden and was gifted at knitting. Her attention to detail was near perfection. She truly enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved her retirement and spending her summers at a camp which was built by family in Kokajo. Other hobbies that she enjoyed included snowmobiling, playing cribbage with her husband each morning and feeding her birds, especially the Hummers. She even drove her husband's stock car in a Powder Puff Derby at Beech Ridge Speedway. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and was very brave and savvy about many things. She took pride in making everyone each their favorite pie at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a highlight of the meal and a tribute to her talent. She truly enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow into fine young adults and loved them with all her heart. She especially enjoyed watching them dance, play basketball and football. She could be seen and heard at many games. It didn't matter if it was pouring rain or 10 below zero. Bev's grace and easygoing style touched everyone she came in contact with and she developed an extended family consisting of many of her sons' friends and their families. She will be missed by everyone. She is survived by her sons, Timothy and his wife Sherri MacDonald and their son John Paul MacDonald of Buxton; and Wayne and his wife Roxanne and their daughters Jessica and Alayna MacDonald of Standish. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Ivory and Ethel Bradbury; her brother, Melville Bradbury, her sister and her husband Nancy and Lucein 'Bill' Owen and another brother, John 'Snooky' Bradbury. Calling hours will take place at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd.) in Buxton (Bar Mills) on March 11, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. www.dcpate.com. A spring graveside service will be held at a later date. The family requests that no flowers be sent to the service. In lieu of flowers and if desired, the family encourages memorial donations in her memory to: The Buxton/Hollis Rescue 185 Portland Rd. Buxton, Maine 04093 Beverly Ann MacDonald
