Almira Elsie (Olivera) O’Brien, 91, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 11, 2011 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold S. O’Brien.

Born in Plymouth, MA on May 14, 1920, she was a dear daughter of the late Laurentino and Rose (Botelho) Oliveira.

A resident of Mansfield for most of her life, Elsie grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield public schools and was a graduate of Mansfield High School.

Mrs. O’Brien was a retired assembler having worked at the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro for over 20 years prior to retiring. When younger, Elsie had been also been employed at the former Babcock Box Co. in Attleboro.

A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Elsie enjoyed gardening and will always be fondly remembered for her exceptional cooking and baking skills.

The loving sister of Rose Fraza of Moline, Illinois, Anthony Oliveira and his wife Dorothy of Attleboro and the late Mary Baptista, Laura Bice and Alvin Oliveira, she is also survived by her cherished nephews; Christopher Bice of Mansfield and Mark Oliveira of North Attleboro, her adoring great nieces; Jennifer Bice of Mansfield and Stephanie Bice of Lexington, Kentucky, as well as her 2 best friends; pugs “Milo” and “Rocky”

Visiting hours will be held at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield MA.
