SMITH, WILLIAM E. JR., 77, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013.

He was a member of Third Central United Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon (Emeritus) and Trustee. He was also a member of the Usher Board, Men's Choir and Christian Men's Fellowship. Mr. Smith was retired from Jefferson County Public Schools, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary P. Smith; son William Steven Smith, and a grandson, Steven Robert Smith; two sisters, Nancy Stolle and Mildred Howell (Edward); two brothers, Joshua Smith (Jackie, and David Smith (Deede); a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.

Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Wednesday A. D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. service is 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at his church, 3900 W. Broadway with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
