Lydia Weaver was born in 1874 in Coseley, Staffordshire, England. Her birth was registered in the Oct-December 1874 Registration District Dudley in Staffordshire, England.(1) Lydia is the eldest child of Jabez Weaver ( Sept 23, 1852 – Mar 25, 1925 ) and Diana ( Dina ) Weaver ( May 15, 1853 - Nov 22, 1926. ) (2)

1881 England Census has her place of birth as Sedgley Staffordshire. She is living with her parents and siblings at 38 Sale Lane Leigh. Her father, Jabez, is listed as a coal miner. (3)

1891 England Census has her birth place as Sedgley Staffordshire. She was living with her parents and siblings at 38 Sale Lane Leigh, working with her family as a Pickelet Dealer/Baker. The bakery was owned by her father Jabez Weaver and was named Weaver's Crumpets. Baked goods were also delivered by horse and buggy to customers. Jabez Weaver is listed as the owner/employer on this census and employs his wife, daughter Lydia and son William. All other children are recorded as scholars. (Attending school. ) (4)

When Lydia was 22 years old she married Harry Allred on the 12th June 1897 at Tyldesley, Lancashire. Her father, Jabez Weaver's occupation is listed as cab proprietor. He had several occupations and businesses over the course of his life. (5) At 24 (1899) Lydia gave birth to her first son Benjamin Thomas at Tyldesley, Lancashire.

1901 England Census Lydia and her family are living at 84 Sale Lane Leigh. Husband Harry is working as a coal miner – hewer. (6) In 1904 Lydia & Harry had another son Robert & in 1910 a daughter Diana, both born in Tyldesley, Lancashire.

In 1906 Lydia went to Canada with her son Robert. She arrived on the 24th August 1906. Other members of the Weaver family members were traveling on the same vessel. Lydia stayed from August 1906 until September 1908 when she returned to England due to ill health. (7) During her stay Lydia was witness to her sister Ruth Weaver's marriage to Stanley Brewer in Oct 2006. (8)

1911 England Census Lydia and her family were living at 52 Sale Lane, Tyldesley, Lancashire. They had been married for 13 years. Her husband Harry was working as a coal miner – hewer. (9)

In March 1921 when she was 46 years old, Lydia visited Canada to see her parents who lived in Natal, BC. Immigration paperwork stated she could both read and write. (10) Lydia is recorded on the Canada 1921 Census renting with others in a boarding house in Natal, BC with her son Harry. Her occupation is dressmaker, an occupation she also had in England and passed down to her granddaughter. The census indicates she immigrated to Canada that year, however she returned to England 16th July 1921. (Her husband Harry Allred is recorded on the 1921 England census.) She traveled back 3rd class with a child Harry; son aged 4 years who was born in England. (11) She remained in England until her death.

Lydia was widowed in 1945. Aged 70 years Harry 349 Manchester Road, Tyldesley, Lancashire. Died 20th July 1945 Probate Llandudno 27 October to Lydia Allred, widow. Effects £339 and 12 s. (12)

Lydia died aged 83 years old Her death was Registered in June 1958, Registration District Farnworth, Inferred County Lancashire, England. (13) Her religion was Church of Enland.

Lydia was cremated and buried alongside of her husband Harry Allred in Tyldesley Cemetery grave number CE C 291. (14)
