He spent 30 years in engineering working at East Bay municipal Utility District, City of Hayward, and City of Napa as City Engineer and the Napa Sanitation District as Engineer – Manager. He retired from the District in 1982 and traveled and wrote a newspaper column on the environment. He was also a Contractor constructing homes in the Napa area.
He married Dolores Belasco Romero on Sept 2, 1950, and three sons and a daughter were born of this marriage.
The daughter died during infancy, the sons, Carl F III, Andrew John and Robert Leroy all live in Sonoma County.
He will be laid to rest at the Golden Gate National Cemetery where the daughter is buried.
