Dennis Darrel Blashill, the son of the late Darrel and Janet (Schultz) Blashill, was born on April 18. 1951, at Bemidji, MN. He grew to manhood there and graduated from Bemidji High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Dennis attended Bemidji State University prior to enlisting in the U. S. Navy and served in Viet Nam. Following discharge from the Navy in 1973, he worked as a cook in Grand Forks, ND for several years, then at the former Town & Country Restaurant in Karlstad for five years. He then operated D & J Restaurant in Lake Bronson for 10 years with his wife, Jennifer Kasprowicz, whom he married Oct. 14, 2000, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson. He also worked at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls for four years. Dennis passed away following a 7 month battle with cancer on Tues. morning, Nov. 24, 2015, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 6 days.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two children: Karri Preibe, of Walker, MN and Seam Blashill, of Bemidji; two grandchildren; two sisters: Carla (Jerry) Gannaway, of Tilaman, OR and Kate Blashill, of North Carolina; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jill Hanson.
Graveside memorial services will be held in the Spring at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery at Greenbush, MN.
