Jennings: A Mass of Christian burial for Lucille LaSalle, 76, of Jennings, LA will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Susil Fernando officiating. Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until the time of her funeral Mass. Lucille will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Carrying Lucille to her final resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Michael LaSalle, Brett LaSalle, Stephen Evans, Courtney Thibodeaux, Brandi Dietz, and Mindy Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Watson, Jerry LaSalle, Bentley Dietz, Jay Seagraves, and Stephen Evans, Jr.

Lucille was born in Jennings, LA on September 24, 1939 to Lawrence "Bee" Sonnier and Aggie LeJeune Sonnier. She was called to her Heavenly Father on August 14, 2016. Lucille was a homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved to do needle point, bake cakes for weddings, watch the Saints, and cook for her family. Lucille was a member of the Catholic Daughters and past chairman of the Adult Friendship Days, as well as a Pink Lady at Jennings American Legion Hospital. Lucille never met a stranger and she loved to visit with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and her dog, Kiko. Lucille was a kind and loving person she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lucille is survived by her son, Joseph "Jerry LaSalle (Effie) of Jennings, LA; her two daughters, Mary "Dean" Stark of Jennings, LA, Mary "Judy" LaSalle Watson (Johnny) of Jennings, LA; seven grandchildren, Brett, Stephen, Courtney, Michael, Brandi, Joise and Mindy; six great grandchildren, Meya, Stephen, Jr., Athena Lynn, Bentley Shawn, Sophia Grace, Weston, and one on the way; two step grandchildren, Jill and Robert; one step great grandchild on the way; two sisters, Joyce Hanks (Raphael) of Port Arthur, TX, Zoa LaGrange(Lewis) of Jennings, LA.

Lucille now rejoices in heaven with the family that preceded her in death, her parents, Lawrence "Bee" Sonnier and Aggie Lejeune Sonnier; her beloved husband, Joseph LaSalle; her brothers, Thomas Anthony Sonnier and Lawrence Joseph Sonnier; her great grandson Aaron Blake.
