Mrs. Clara Novak, 84, a Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday, April 18, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Due to Holy Week, funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Deacon Bill Klein will officiate and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Clara Christoff was born June 27, 1899, in Kewaunee County, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Oberhofer Christoff. She married Charles J. Novak on July 22, 1915, at Luxemburg. After marriage the couple resided at Green Bay, Wis., and Rockwood, Wis., moving to Manitowoc in 1923. Mr. Novak preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1973. Mrs. Novak was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Josie Novak of Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and James Nemec of Sturgeon Bay and Patricia and Elmer Narten of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Regina) Burkart of Manitowoc and Mrs. Rose Kleman of Rockwood, Wis.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pearl Novak Glasow in 1967, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock this Thursday afternoon and from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services.
