Mr. Lipstein was the son of Morris and Annie Lipstein, who were immigrants to the US from Russia/Poland. He was the brother of Fannie Abeson, Isadore (Findagrave memorial # 91504116), Jacob, and Mollie Heller.

Mr. Lipstein was the second husband of Eleanor Frances (Mueller) Losee, whom he married in 1948. He and Eleanor had 4 children: Marise, Dyan, Maryl, and Mark.

Mr. Lipstein was the proprietor of Lipstein and Sons Poultry Market on Broadway in Schenectady, which had been founded by his father. He was a member of the Jewish War Veteran's Post 106 and the Elks club.

At his death Mr. Lipstein generously made an anatomical gift of his body to the Albany Medical College. His remains were later interred in the College's plot at Albany Rural Cemetery.
