Ann passed peacefully on October 2, 2015 with her daughters at her side after a short battle with cancer.

She was born March 19, 1936 in Kennebunk, ME the daughter of the late Guy and Alta (Londo)Welch.

Ann was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great joy in cooking and doing crafts especially knitting and sewing.

Her greatest accomplishments were her many years of golfing. She was an honorary member of Exeter Country Club where she won many club championships. She was a member and secretary of the NH Women's Golf Association where she won several championships as well. After retiring from golf she became an avid bridge player.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Abbott, and together they shared 60 years of marriage.

She is survived by her two daughters, Judy and son in law John LaChapelle of The Villages, FL and Patti Corbin of Exeter, NH. Her four grandchildren, Paul LaChapelle of Exeter, Jennifer Small of Exeter, Kelli LaChapelle of Wildwood FL, Rachel Yerakes of Somersworth NH and by 6 great grandchildren, Kyra LaChapelle, Madison Small, Chase LaChapelle, Trevor Yerakes, Isabella Small, and Mya Gouveia. She is also survived by her brother Barry Welch of Kennebunk ME.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 5-7 PM. Graveside services will be held at the Exeter Cemetery, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11 AM. Flowers are acceptable or if desired donations may be made to Friends of the Hyder Family Hospice House, 285 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820.
