HARRISBURG, Ill. - Marion C. Abney, 80, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was a retired coal miner and a member of Land Street Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Patty Odle and Darlene Dearing, both of Harrisburg; two sisters, Gladys Hicks of Harrisburg and Louise Richardson of Sesser; a brother, Cecil Abney of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Rick and Scott Dearing, Rena Conkle, Marci and Phillip Odle and Melissa Risley; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gaskins Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
