Camile Octave Allain was one of five children born to Zenon Allain and his wife Maria Evelina LeBlanc. Camile was employed as a farmer early in his life and then as a house carpenter.

Camile was united in marriage on January 11, 1870 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Josephine Amara Landry. Camile and Josephine were blessed with the birth of ten children during their 60 year marriage:
