Mr. Whitten was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church for 17 years. He worked as a treating plant operator for 40 years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Littleville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Faye Whitten; sons, Karl Whitten and his wife Gnean, Jeff Whitten and his wife Tracy, Kevin Whitten; daughters, Pamela Adair and her husband Stanley, Karen Sutherland and her husband Thomas, Evelyn Whitman and her husband David, Larissa Adair and her husband Jonathan; brother, Del B Whitten, and sister, Jewel Carter. He was "Pawpaw" to 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hattie Mae Whitten; brothers George, Doyle, Timon, Elvis Lee, BoBo, Poss, Calvin; sisters, Louise, Evelynn, Gracie, Irene, Elsey, and May Gene.
