(I am no relation. I just happened across his death in the newspaper and found no memorial page for him so I did more research and created one for him.)

Info taken from his birth record, death record, death mentioned in The Owosso Times and the Evening Argus newspapers, Owosso, Michigan.

His family were former residents of Owosso, he attended Owosso High School. They moved to Ann Arbor to take advantage of the university.

Spanish American War Veteran. Earl enlisted in Co. G, 31st Infantry at Ypsilanti, Mich. as the Ann Arbor company was full. While in camp he contracted a fever from which he never fully recovered. One account of his death said he died at the home of his sister in "Southfield", Eaton County, Michigan. I believe it should be "Sunfield" as Southfield is in Oakland County. His body left from Grand Ledge, Eaton County. Company G of Owosso escorted his body from the train depot to Oak Hill Cemetery.

father: Leonard C. Austin
mother: Hannah L. Yeckley
(Could Middle Name Possibly Be Yeckley?)
