Debra Louise “Debbie” Abbott, 60, of Richmond, MO died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the University Of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Debbie was born on August 29, 1955 in Lexington, MO to Louis LeRoy and Norma D. (Sperbeck) Kendrick. She married Timothy Abbott of Richmond on July 12, 1986. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include her mother, Norma Kendrick of Carrollton, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Jennifer Mullikin of Cameron, MO; one daughter, Jessica Covey of Excelsior Springs, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis Dean and Robyn Kendrick of Cypress, TX; one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and David McGaugh of Carrollton; 5 grandchildren, Haley, Tristian, Kendrick, Slade and Parker; and 3 great-grandchildren, Maison and twins, Ember and Evelyn.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father.

Debbie was a 1973 graduate of Excelsior Springs, MO. She received her R.N. degree at Penn Valley College of Nursing in 1996. Debbie was a Registered Nurse at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond for 26 years before retiring in 2014. She was an E.M.T. / Paramedic for Ray County. She was a member of the Ray County Community Arts Association, Friends of the Farris in Richmond and the Ray County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Movement for Change Church in Richmond. Debbie lived in Richmond most of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Ray County Community Arts Association or to the Ray County Hospital Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
