George Preston Dies In Visalia
George L. Preston, 79, died in a local hospital early today following an illness of some time. A pioneer farmer of this district, he had resided in the vicinity of Visalia for the past 51 years. He was a member of the First Christian church of this city.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Pollock of Visalia, Mrs. Harriet Watkins of Gardena and Mrs. Ann Carpenter of Eshom Valley, four sons, Fred Preston of Bakersfield, Walter Preston of Long Beach, Jess Preston of Fresno and George Preston of Maricopa, besides a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the A. E. Brooks & Son funeral chapel. Rev. J. F. Stubbs, pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate and interment will follow in the Visalia Cemetery.
