JoAnn Stewart Brinkman, born July 26, 1934, entered heaven's gates escorted by her angels on October 24, 2015. She was at her home in Mesquite, Texas at the time of her death, a promise that was kept.
JoAnn the daughter of her departed parents John Stewart Duckworth and Mary Anna Duckworth was born in Lonaconing, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by Marshall Dorn Brinkman, the father of their 5 children.
She was a patriotic Navy wife survived by Hugh Brinkman, her devoted husband who shared her amazing life's journey. Their undying love and commitment to each other can be felt by all that know them.
JoAnn was kindhearted woman of faith and her love of family is her legacy. She devoted her life selflessly to raising her family in a home filled with unconditional love and shared her wisdom through life lessons.
She is survived by her 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends.
She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou Tyson.
She will live for eternity in the love, songs and lessons she imprinted on our hearts.

Services will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas. The viewing is Wednesday, October 28 from 6 PM - 8 PM and the funeral is Thursday, October 29 at 10 AM.
Her final resting place is DFW National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
