Ethel Hood, 74, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2006 after a long illness. Ethel was born on October 17, 1931 in Bentonville, Texas. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, granny, and great-granny, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, niece, and friend.

Ethel was employed by R.J. Reynolds, owned A&A Upholstery for 20 years, worked for SCI and retired from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi in 2006. She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Lee Madison Hodgens and Donald Weldon Hood; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lewis; one brother, Cliff Lewis; one step-grandson, Rory Moore.

She is survived by her five daughters: Leigh Sharon White, LaRue Kay Saenz (John), Billie Claudette Doss (Michael), Patricia Eileen Hughes (Willy), and Cindy Marie White (John Harold); ten grandchildren, Kimberlee Kay Cowdrey, Natalee Marie Doss, John Lee White, Leesa Marie Gibson (Terry), Lee Michael White, Willy Dale Hughes, Jr., Harry Lee White III, Julee Marie White, John Michael Saenz (Nichole), and Dawn Etheleen Bopp (Ron); 14 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Robin Moore (Jan), Robert (Jeri Sue), and Quida Savage (Chuck); stepgrandchildren, Robin Jr., Sarah, Kate, Lester, Layton, Logan, Jacyln, and Ryan; two step-great-grandchildren; aunts, G. Marie Shriver and Irma Hill; dear cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Visitation as held Aug. 31 and a funeral service was celebrated Sept. 1 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.

Pallbearers: John Lee White, Lee Michael White, Harry Lee White, III (Trey), John Michael Saenz, Willy Dale Hughes, Jr., Clifton Lee Lewis, Michael Ray Lewis, and James Edward Lewis.
