Nina Redenbacher, the wife of popcorn entrepreneur Orville Redenbacher, has died of a heart attack at the couple's Coronado home. She was 91.

Mrs. Redenbacher had had a complete physical on Monday "and everything was OK," her husband said Thursday. She died on Wednesday.

The Redenbachers moved to San Diego 15 years ago (1976) from Valparaiso, Ind., where they married in 1971.

"I had traveled in all 50 states, and this was the best place to live all year round," he said.

Mrs. Redenbacher frequently accompanied her husband on his promotional tours, but was never active on the business end of the popcorn operations, Redenbacher said.

Mrs. Redenbacher was born in Clay City, Ind., and lived there until moving to Terre Haute, Ind.

She "loved to play golf and was city champion there one year," Redenbacher said.

No services are scheduled. Cremation is planned, and her ashes will be scattered at sea.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carole Lister of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister, Faye Anderson of Grants Pass, Ore.; stepdaughters Billie Atwood of San Jose; Sue Gorley of Evansville, Ind., and Gail Tuminello of Valparaiso. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

This book "More Than Popcorn" does not include a second marriage for Orville Redenbacher. You would think a grandson (Kevin Fish) would want to get it right.
