Charles Fierst, 88, (photo) of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, died Saturday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient six weeks.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John Haen officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

The deceased was born in the Town of Kossuth July 19, 1879, son of the late Emanuel and Mary Albrecht Fierst. He married Antoinette Wanek Jan. 15, 1901, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The couple then farmed in the Town of Kossuth for seven years. In 1910 they moved to their present home in the Town of Gibson. Mr. Fierst was a mason by trade and also operated a threshing machine for 27 years. The couple celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary in 1951. He was a member of St. Ann Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church.

He is survived by his wife. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this Monday evening by Father Haen and members of the Holy Name Society.
