Taylorville, Aug 26. – John Yockey, living at East Street, died at his home about 11:45 o'clock Sunday morning from the effects of general breakdown, after an illness of several days.

Mr. Yockey was born in Franklin County. Pa., and at his death was seventy-nine years and six months old.

He moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio and was married in' Ohio to Miss Lydia Baughman in 1859. The couple came to Christian county in 1864 and had resided here ever since, living in Stonington Township until they came to Taylorville two years ago to retire.

Mr. Yockey was one of the founders of the Mt. Zion Reformed Church near Stonington and was always one of its loyal members. Jacob Yockey of this city is a brother of the deceased.

His widow and the following children survive: John Yockey of Edinburg, Edward Yockey of Stonington, Mrs. Charlotte Nelms of Taylorville and Mrs. Cora Alten of Stonington.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Oplinger of Taylorville and Rev. Mr. Allbright of the Mt. Zion Church officiating. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery.
