Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Phares and Ada (Shirk) Horst. Her husband, Bishop Harry H. Martin, died Sept. 18, 1996.
Emma was a homemaker and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are six sons, J. David (Martha) Martin of Shippensburg, Harry (Ida) Martin of Martinsburg, Sidney (Sarah) Martin of New Holland, Adam (Emma) Martin of Newville, Menno (Emma) Martin of Shippensburg, and Enos (Vera) Martin of Owen, WI; three daughters, Lydia (Earl) Weaver of East Earl, Katie Fox of Stanley, WI, and Emma (Levi) Brubaker of Martinsburg; a son-in-law, Levi Nolt of Leola; a daughter-in-law, Anna Martin of Newville; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is a son Phares Martin; a daughter, Ada Nolt; two sisters, Barbara Martin and Minnie Rissler; and a brother, Henry Horst.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7 at 9 am at the home of Earl and Lydia Weaver, 387 Reading Road, East Earl, PA with further services at 9:30 am at the Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the home of Earl and Lydia Weaver on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers.
