Edwin H. "Eddie" Lewis, 91, of Sanders, Ky., died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

He was born Dec. 11, 1912, in Worthville, Ky., the son of Norvin Albright and Julia Amanda Hunt Lewis. He retired in 1977 from M & T Chemicals in Carrollton as a lab technician. He was a member and deacon of the Jordan Baptist Church. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps, later the U.S. Air Force, serving in World War II and the Korean War, and also a member of the Carrollton American Legion Post No. 41.

Surviving are his wife, Ida B. Davis Lewis, whom he married Dec. 10, 1942; one son, Eddie Davis Lewis, and one daughter, Ann Lewis Smith, both of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Norvin S. "Buddy" Lewis of Delavan, Wis.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathryn Lewis Raisor; one brother, R.L. "Toby" Lewis; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Monday at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, with burial in the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT Sunday at the funeral home.

He was a retired lab tech from M&T Chemicals, Carrollton, and an Army and Air Force veteran serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church, Sanders, and Carrollton American Legion Post No. 41.

Survivors include his wife, Ida B. Davis; a son, Eddie Davis Lewis of Lexington; a daughter, Ann Lewis Smith of Lexington; a brother, Norvin S. "Buddy" Lewis of Delavan, Wis.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carrollton.
