John Haws, 76 (photo), of Francis Creek, a lifelong resident of the Town of Kossuth, died Saturday night at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc following a coronary attack. He had been a patient at the hospital since Friday.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John Haen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Haws was born Aug. 28, 1885, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Frank and Anna Bruder Haws. On Aug. 8, 1910, he married the former Elizabeth Birringer at St. Ann Catholic Church. The couple settled at Francis Creek. Mr. Haws was a Chicago and North Western Railroad Co. section foreman for 45 years, retiring in 1951. He was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church. Mr. and Mrs. Haws celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1950.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Anton Novak of Manitowoc, Mrs. Edward Fictum of Denmark and Mrs. John Heerey of Milwaukee; a brother, Edward of Deerfield, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. J.J. Carroll of New York, Mrs. Theresa Klackner of Manitowoc and Mrs. Edward Koch of Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Fr. Haen and the Holy Name Society.
