He was born March 25, 1922 at home in Potomac, IL, the son of Owen and Rose Anna Grider.
He married Mabel Eloise Judy on June 13, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2007.
He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Cox of Hoopeston, IL and Colleen Martin of Texas; four grandchildren, Christy (Timmy) Stacey of Texas, Cindy (Thomas) Carswell of Texas, Kevin (Shelia) Butzow of Hoopeston, IL and Eric (Rhonda) Butzow of Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carolyn Butzow; one infant brother; two sisters, Helen Jobson and Leota Bailey.
Curt served in the United States Army during World War II and Korean War.
He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation, until he retired.
He loved spending time with his family and liked to have fun.
