Harold Casper Jensen, 79, died Sept. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1921, at the family farm north of Hays, to Andrew and Esther (Joy) Jensen. He attended Hopewell School and was a 1942 graduate of Hays High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 19, 1942, and served in the South Pacific. His last assignment was in Iwo Jima, where he received the service star.
He married Bonita Byerley on Jan. 26, 1947, in Kansas City, MO.
