Esther C. Kimmes, age 102, a resident of St. Mary's Home, of Manitowoc, formerly of 407 Maplewood Dr., Francis Creek, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the St. Mary's Home.

Esther was born March 17, 1911, in Manitowoc, to the late John and Mary Schuler Stiefvater and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a 1928 graduate of the Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Esther married Harvey Kimmes on October 24, 1936, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1977. Esther was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Francis Creek, the Catholic Knights, the Manitowoc Co., Homemakers Association, and the Francis Creek Senior Citizens. She served as a volunteer for many years for the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. She enjoyed extensive traveling.

Esther is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Kathleen and Alfred Endries, of Pipe, WI; Eileen and Willard Belitz, of Cleveland, WI; Lenore and Jeffery Goodchild, of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons and three daughter-in-law: John C. and Grace Kimmes, of Francis Creek, WI; Harvey P. and Jane Kimmes, of Green Bay; and Martha Kimmes, of Elizabethtown, KY; 16 grandchildren 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Kimmes, two grandsons, Daniel Belitz, and Joseph Endries, and by two great-grandchildren, Amy and Ethan Muellenbach, and by four sisters and brother-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Francis Creek, with the Reverend John Becker officiating, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Monday at the church, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.

The Kimmes family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of St. Mary's Home of Manitowoc, for the love and special care given to Esther during her residency there. Your kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.

The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Kimmes family with funeral arrangements.
