Elmer J. Lorenz, age 86, of 38156 Lorenz Road, Two Rivers, died Friday, May 18, 2001 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Funeral Services will be held at 1000 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Theodore Hendricks will celebrate the mass of Christian Burial with burial at St. Anne Cemetery.
Elmer was born October 8, 1914 in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County son of the late Emil and Laura Hickey Lorenz. He attended school at Kossuth #1 and St. Anne Grade School and married Marion B. Decker September 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. They celebrated 54 plus years together. Elmer farmed his whole life.
He was a member of St. Anne Parish, Francis Creek; Knights of Columbus Council 3710; a 50 year member of Catholic Knights; honorary member of Francis Creek Sportsmans Club and the Manitowoc County Fish & Game. Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing and sheepshead.
Survivors include his wife Marion; children include: Richard (Denise) Lorenz, Greenville; Patrick (Joan) Lorenz, rural Two Rivers; Gerald (Rhonda) Lorenz, Manitowoc; Judith Leike and fiancée Bill Engelbrecht, Manitowoc; Mark (Lori) Lorenz, Manitowoc; Steven Lorenz, Manitowoc; Grandchildren: Tanner Lorenz, Kristi Lorenz, Thomas Lorenz, Jonathan Lorenz, Jackie Lorenz, Lindsay Lorenz, Tony Lorenz, Nicole Lorenz, Melissa (Steve) Hecker, Anji Leike, Seth Engelbrecht and Tyler Lorenz. Great Grandchildren: Gage Leike and Candy Leiker. Brother and sisters include "Kenneth (Jane) Lorenz, Francis Creek; Bernice Herrmann, Francis Creek; Margie (George) Antholz, Mosinee, WI; Priscilla (Danny) Cerminara, DePere. Brother-in-law: Fred Benzinger, Two Rivers; Sister-in-law: Nancy Lorenz, rural Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons: Robert and Joseph: four brothers: Raymond, Richard, Edward and Wayne; three sisters Helen Caloupka, Ruth Reinke and Dorothy Mae Benzinger.
Relatives and Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday (TONIGHT) at Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville and on Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek from 9:00 am to the time of service at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday (TONIGHT) led by Father Ted.
