Mrs. Esther S. Meyer, 64, of 1020A New York Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Cyril Van Heeswyk will officiate and burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mrs. Meyer, nee Esther Heiser, was born Oct. 29, 1908, at Mishicot, daughter of the late George Heiser and Mrs. Leona Stelzer Heiser Flentje. She attended Mishicot grade and high school and was married to Leonard W. Meyer April 17, 1928 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple owned and operated a tavern in Taus from 1955 to 1959. Mr. Meyer preceded her in death in 1958. She then managed the housewares department at Schuette Bros. Dept. Store, Manitowoc, retiring in August of 1970. Mrs. Meyer was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Leona Flentje, of 1813 13th St., Two Rivers; two sons, William, of Manitowoc and Kenneth, of Omro; three daughters, Mrs. William (Arlene) Hason, Mrs. Lloyd (Jean) Schaefer and Mrs. Myron (Laone) Loose, of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Irma) Biel, of Two Rivers and Mrs. Leona Meyer, of Manitowoc; and 21 grandchildren. Her father, a brother and two grandsons preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.
