CLARENCE B. CAMPBELL Services were to be held this morning for Clarence B. "Soup" Campbell, a former Philadelphia Inquirer editor and writer, who died Saturday. He was 83 and lived in Cherry Hill, N.J.
A former resident of Westmont, N.J., Campbell had worked as a reporter and copy editor at the Inquirer from 1925 to 1960. When he retired from the newspaper, he took a position with Chilton Publications in Bala Cynwyd as an editor.
His late wife was the former Dorothy Welch.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Claire Stoll; two sons, Richard J. and Dennis M.; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Holy Savior Roman Catholic Church, Emerald Avenue, Westmont. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Route 70, Cherry Hill.
Mass offerings are preferred.
