EAST MOLINE — Services for Richard E. Behrens, 77, East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Mr. Behrens died Friday, Feb.15, 2002, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.
He had worked at the Former AMETEK, East Moline, and later retired as a welder from East Moline Metal.
Mr. Behrens was born July 5, 1924, in Lindsay, Neb., to Joseph and Mary (Otterpohl) Behrens. He married Dorothy Dohmen on April 15, 1947, in Lindsay, Neb.
Richard enjoyed playing cards, gardening and fishing. He was an avid Cub, Bears and Bulls fan.
Memorials may be made to the Monsignor William J. Cleary Endowment Fund.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children and spouses, Robert and Janie Behrens, Streater, Ill., Mary Jane and Allen Smith, East Moline, Dianne and Randy Paustian, Davenport, Darlene and Tom Strobbe, Geneseo, Ill., Ronald and Connie Behrens, Shelton, Wyo., Randall and Kathy Behrens, East Moline, and Michelle and Jr. Michels, East Moline; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernette Parks and Maxine Howarth, both of Omaha, Neb., and Margarite Melcher, Columbus, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Tammie Van Goethem, and sisters, Elaine Bender and Luella Pheifer.
