(1902 - 1987)


Julia Rowe, 84, former Francis Creek resident, died early Thursday morning, December 10, 1987 at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10:30 am at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Donald Schneider and burial will be in the church cemetery.


Mrs. Rowe, nee Julia Hartl, was born December 22, 1902 at Lena, Oconto County, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Kronsnoble Hartl. She moved to Manitowoc in 1921 and married Clifford H. Rowe in October, 1924, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple then moved to Francis Creek where they operated a meat market for many years. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Christian Mothers Altar Society of St. Anne Church. Her husband preceded her in death on September 29, 1951.


Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Beatrice and Charles Prather of Tustin, California and Shirley and Leo Konop of Francis Creek; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sophia Schipper of Manitowoc and Lucy and Adolph Kirt of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Lois LaRose of Sheboygan; and five grandchildren, Clifford Prather, Susan Honaker, Sharon Martens, Gary Konop, Kay Konop and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters.


Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, 4 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday to the time of services. Prayer services at 7:30 pm Friday evening by Father Schneider and the Christian Mothers Altar Society.

Hartle — Rowe

The marriage of Miss Julia Hartle of Manitowoc and Mr. Clifford Rowe of this city took place at Manitowoc on October 21st. The couple made a tour to Upper Michigan. The groom is employed at Herman's Meat Market.
