Alice R. Baldwin Hardwick, 90, of Frankfort, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.

She was born October 30, 1923, in Wayne County, the daughter of S. Earl and Esther Black Baldwin. Alice married Donald B. Hardwick on March 3, 1946; he survives.

Alice graduated from Richmond High School in 1942. She then attended and graduated from Reed Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Alice worked at the Director of Health Service – RN at Earlham College in Richmond. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John (Katy) Hardwick of Valparaiso; two siblings, Rozan E. Gerkin of Statesboro, Georgia, and Lowell C. Baldwin of Aurora, Ohio; four grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Bryan, and Amanda; and eight great-grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, son, Stephen J. Hardwick, and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service for Alice will be held at Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel in Wesley Manor on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior to the service. Pastor Jake Fisher and Chaplin Barbara Kinsler will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Glenn Haven Memorial Gardens in Richmond.
