Mrs. Derham's Mother Passes Away in L.A. Mrs. Mary C. Green, mother of Mrs. Effie Derham of Fillmore, passed away May 24 in Angelus hospital, Los Angeles, at the age of 84 years. Funeral services were held at Pierce Bros chapel and the remains were cremated in Inglewood and the ashes sent to Cerrillos, New Mexico, for interment by the side of her husband. In New Mexico, services were conducted by the Eastern Star. The deceased is survived by five daughters, besides Mrs. Derham, who are Mrs. Nancy McCleary and Mrs. Ruth Cook of Los Angeles, Mrs. May Slaughter, Murphy, Cal.; Mrs. Kittie Dalton, Salome, Arizona, Mrs. Emma Cooper, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and four sons, George Green, Redondo Beach, Cal.; Christopher Green, Jackson, Cal., Roy Green, Cerrillos, New Mexico, and Richard Green, Jr. of Los Angeles. Twenty-seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren survive her. Mrs. Green made her home in Fillmore [several words are obscured] and was well known and loved by all who knew her here.
