Dean Lamar Kendall passed away at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center at the age of 88. He was born to Alma Dean and Mae Kendall. He attended school and graduated from high school in Nephi. When he graduated, Lamar started working for the railroad as a firefighter out of Elko, Nev. He also spent some time working for Bing Crosby on a ranch near Elko. In 1939 he was married to Jennie Mariluch in Elko. They were married, until Lamar's death, just short of 67 years.After the war, he returned to Elko where he became involved in wholesale liquor distribution. He eventually became part-owner of Blach Distributing and worked there until his retirement in 1977. Lamar is survived by his wife, Jennie Kendall of Hagerman; son, Richard (Brenda) Kendall of Hagerman; daughter, Patty (Louis) Bilbao of Boise; grandchildren, Julie Kendall of Elko, Tricia Bilbao (Tom) of Boise and Lynette (Ben) Ford of Chico, Calif.; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Jane (Ferrin) Allen of Brigham City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maxine Oldham.
