Funeral services for L.D. "Lindy" Allen, 76, of DeRidder were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial followed in the Rosepine Cemetery. Mr. Allen died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wapanucka, Okla. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Wilda Renfro Allen of DeRidder, son, Gary Allen of Lake Charles; daughters, Linda (Charlie) Jones and Gail (Joe) Weaver, both of Rosepine; brothers, Jack Allen of Anaheim Hills, Cal., Kenny Allen of Abilene, Kan., Leon Allen of Casa Grande, Ariz., and LeRoy Allen of Burkeville, Texas; sister, Georgia Corbello of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Michelle Jones Bowie, Stafanie Jones Wright, Daniel Jones, Joe Weaver, Jr., and Leslie Weaver Williams; and six great grandchildren.
