Ernest J. Deeds, age 94, a resident of Irving since 1966, died Monday, December 7, 2015, at a local care center. Born April 27, 1921 in Hobart, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Daise Deeds and Etta Rhodes Deeds. A U S Army veteran of WWII, had worked in automobile repair. He was a member of Purple Heart Chapter 542 and Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. He married Lois Clements December 31, 1966. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Irving; a son Tom Deeds and wife Andrea of Cooper, Texas; a brother Earl Deeds and wife Shirley of Aubrey, Texas; and four grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Brandie, and Chad. The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 North Story Road in Irving. Rev. Ken Branam will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family has asked the PGR to participate in the procession from the funeral home to DFW National Cemetery, and to stand a flag line there for the interment service.
