John D. (Red) Wagner, 76, of 423 Birchwood Drive, Francis Creek, died Monday afternoon April 13, 1992, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Donald Schneider will officiate with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Wagner was born May 31, 1915, in Pentoga, Mich., son of the late Joseph and Mary Roberts Wagner Sr. He attended schools in Fifield, and graduated from Fifield High School in 1933. On February 20, 1943, he married Bertha Greatens at St. Benedict. The Moor Catholic Church, Milwaukee. The family moved to Francis Creek in 1950 and operated the Wagner’s Meat Market and Grocery Store until his retirement in 1982 Mr. Wagner was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Catholic Knights Insurance Society No. 96 of Francis Creek, the Francis Creek Fire Department, charter member of Francis Creek Lions Club and a charter member of Francis Creek Sportsmans Club.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Sarah Wagner of Francis Creek; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Ronald Miller of Francis Creek, Cindy and Wilbert Funk Jr. of Denmark, Brenda and Charles Pribek, of Francis Creek, Vickey and John Marquardt of Manitowoc; 25 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Joe and Albertine Wagner of Fifeld, Wis., Ione Wagner of Lac du Flambeau, Wis., Elsie Wagner of Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernice Cory of Chicago, Ill., Doris and Angus Menzies of Chicago, Ill., Doris and Angus Menzies of Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell, Bob; a brother-in-law, Gilbert; and an infant sister.

Friends may call at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday until the time of Mass. Parish prayer services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Anne Church led by Father Don, Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
