Steven Lewis Abernathy, 53, of OKC passed away December 7, 2015. He was born January 7, 1962 to James and Lois in Oklahoma City. Steven enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, working in the yard, cooking and carpentry. He loved canning, sewing and making quilts. He is survived by his mother, Lois Childress; sister, Carolyn Sue Abernathy; brothers, David Abernathy and wife, Terri, & Larry and Mark Abernathy; step-brother, Michel Childress and husband, Shirl; step-sister, Wanda Starkey and husband, Glen; step-sister, Debbie Harmonson and wife, Chris; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, James Abernathy; brother, Tim Abernathy; grandmother, Merel Hicks; & stepfather, Arthur Childress. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Chapel of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK.
