Helen Marie Laurent was born 19 Oct 1897 at the home of her parents in Phlax, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Thomas and Marybell [Bissionette] Laurent.

Her first husband was William Joseph "Peck" DeRosie.

MRS. MARIE MCQUERN 87 of Abbott, died Wednesday, July 3, at a Whitney Hospital. Born October 19, 1897, in Wisconsin, she was married to William DeRosia in 1915 and moved to Ironwood, Michigan where she lived several years before moving to Waukegan, Illinois. She was employed by Johns Manville Corporation for 25 years, retiring in 1961. Mrs. McQuern was a member of immaculate Conception Church, Homer Dahringer American Legion Auxiliary Unit No 281 and the Johns Manville Quarter Century Club in Waukegan. She had lived in Abbott six years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harvey [Opal] Johnston of Abbott: two brothers, Ben Laurent of Oxnard, California and Clyde Laurent of Waukegan; two sisters, Mrs. James [Dorothy][ Strong of Stockett, Montana and Mrs. Jack [Isabell] Kennedy of Waukegan; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of memories in Waukegan, Illinois after cremation.
