Sherrene Rose Straka, age 57, died on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at her home in Weirton, WV. She was born on October 30, 1950 in Wheeling, WV to Edward L. Donley and Catherine Misch Donley. On September 2, 1995, Sherrene married Frederick M. Straka in Weirton, WV.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Sherrene was a member American Legion Post No. 10 Auxilliary and as an adult leader, she selected girls to attend Rhoderdendron Girls State. Sherrene was a member of the 25 Year Club, Weirton Steel. She retired after 29 years of service in the Management Information Services of Weirton Steel.
Sherrene is survived by her husband, Frederick M. Straka; parents, Edward L. Donley and Catherine Misch Donley, of Wellsburg, WV; brother, Douglas Donley and wife, Janice, of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Janet Barnett and Husband, Frank, of Cross Lanes, WV, and Mary Ann Eisenhower and Husband, Jay, of Bethany, WV; mother-in-law, Irma Straka, of Toronto, OH; sisters-in-law, Karen Bart and husband, Tom, of Buford, Ga, and Valerie Barth and husband, Jim, of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law, Brian Straka and wife, Cindy, of Richmond, OH; several nieces and nephews; and one great niece and three great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Albert Straka, and nephews, Derek Eisenhower and Joshua Donley.
Friends will be received at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton, WV, on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10:00 am with Reverand Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
