Aaron S. Bement, age 40, of Eau Claire, WI, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 7, 2015.

Aaron was born February 14, 1975, in Eau Claire, WI, to Brian Bement and Mary Jo Wagner.

Aaron worked as an independent makeup artist in Eau Claire, Minneapolis and New York. Makeup, fashion and style were life-long passions for Aaron and influenced every facet of his life—he was never more excited or knowledgeable than when he was discussing makeup or the latest trends in the fashion world. He began working in salons while still a teen and student at Memorial High School in Eau Claire. After high school, he devoted himself to his craft and moved to Minneapolis and later New York doing makeup in salons and assisting several major makeup artists, especially Rose-Marie Swift. Aaron’s knowledge of current, former and cutting edge trends was unparalleled. A devotee of music and movies, he had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of popular culture that he loved to share and discuss with friends and family.

Over the forty years of his life, Aaron collected many friends from a variety of backgrounds. He was fiercely loyal and loved his friends to a degree rarely seen. His friends orbited around his larger than life personality as he shared his passions and deduced what his friend’s passions were, and blended the two. Quick wit, banter and a specific way of seeing the world were key to Aaron’s personality. His friends were treated to endless stories, music, an assessment of the world around them and a zest for life that could leave one breathless, but never bored. Aaron lived always in the present, and his family and friends are now left with a huge and unfillable hole in their hearts, and in their lives.

Aaron is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Jo Wagner of Eau Claire; father, Brian (Maureen) Bement of Augusta, WI; three brothers, Robert, Christopher and William, all of Eau Claire; one nephew, Alex of Hayward, WI; two nieces, McKenzie and Amanda, both of Eau Claire; and two great-nieces, Aurora and Azalia.

Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles, Greg Bement, Victor Bement and John Severson; cousins, Jeffrey Super, Jeffrey Jones, Peter Bement and J.R. Bement.

A Celebration of Life will take place starting at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at VFW Post 305, 1300 Starr Avenue, in Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving his family.
