John B. Gilkey
Family business owner was Army veteran
John B. Gilkey, 26 Kirkland Drive, Lackawannock Township, former ly of West Middlesex, passe d away unexpectedly in his home at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008. He was 68.
Mr. Gilkey was born Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1939, in Jackson, Mich, the son of John and Helen (Wagner) Gilkey.
He attended West Middlesex High School and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18.
John retired in 1993 from his family business, G and S Heating, Hermitage, where he was employed as an installer and repairman with 20 years of service.
He belonged to the former Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 327, Sharon, and lived a very simple life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors are: two daughters, Misty Stevenson and Lisa Stevenson, both of Mercer; two sons, John B. Stevenson and his wife Louanna, Hermitage; and James D. Gilkey, Mercer; and seven grandchildren.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Donna (Gilkey) Scott.
