Mrs. Ellen McMahon, one of Bedford’s widely known Catholic ladies, died this morning at 6 o’clock, death being due to infirmities of old age. Mrs. McMahon was born in county Clare, Ireland and was 88 years of age. She had been a resident of Bedford for the past 55 years and was a lady loved and honored by all with whom she came in contact. She is survived by the following children, John H. McMahon, and Mrs. Maggie Moore, of this city and Mrs. Honora Kirkman, of Bloomington.
She was a devout member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic church, from which place the funeral will occur Saturday morning at 9 o’clock in charge of Father Lannert. Interment will follow at Green Hill cemetery.
